Dos & Don’ts Test

Do’s

  • DO inform about snapping of conductor or electrical accident to nearest MSEDCL office with details of incident spot.
  • DO provide insulation Tape on wire Joint near Motor Terminals.
  • DO use proper capacity of ELCB / MCCB.
  • DO take care while using Fan, Electric iron, cooler etc.
  • DO proper care while plugging pin in to the socket.
  • DO care while handling of metallic rod under electric lines / in Gallery, Terrace and Window
  • DO use three pin sockets in electrical Circuit, Which is useful for effective earthing
  • DO replace the Sockets, Switches and electric board if found crack.
  • DO use wires without joint.
  • DO fix the Switches & plug pin on proper height beyond the reach of children’s
  • DO use the equipments of I.S.I. mark only
  • DO keep the earthing effective. Pour the water in earth pit to keep it wet. Effective earthing value should be up to 2 Ohm.
  • DO electric wiring from authorized electric contractor only and check it regularly.
  • DO household electric wiring only from wireman.
  • DO take proper permission from MSEDCL office before tree trimming near electric line.
  • DO off the main Switch first, while fire due to short circuit..
  • DO unplug Hair dryer, curling iron, Mobile charger etc when not in use.

Don’ts

  • DON’T touch snapped electric conductor or cross it and DON’T allow others to do it.
  • DON’T allow animals to go nearer to snapped conductor.
  • DON’T put fuses of higher capacity.
  • DON’T overload electric circuit.
  • DON’T climb on Electric pole to take away the kit or for any other reason.
  • DON’T allow private wireman to do work on electric line.
  • DON’T put joints to wires in electric circuit.
  • DON’T pass electric supply in fencing
  • DON’T tie rope of Animals to Stay, pole etc.
  • DON’T extend flexible wire under Tin shed.
  • DON’T tie metallic wire to Stay or pole for drying of cloths.
  • DON’T use open water heater.
  • DON’T put hook on electric line for theft of energy.
  • DON’T handle long metallic rod / angles etc below electric line.
  • DON’T construct shed / house / hut etc below electric line.
  • DON’T cut earthing wire / Stay wire.
  • DON’T extend service wire through tree branches.
  • DON’T touch electrocuted person with open hand or metallic things for isolation from live parts. Use dry wooden rod for it.
  • DON’T plug to may cords in to an outlet.
  • DON’T use water to extinguish fire due to short circuit.
  • DON’T allow child to insert metal piece in to socket.
  • DON’T yank cord from outlet.
  • DON’T plug anything into an outlet if there is water on the floor.
  • DON’T climb trees near power lines.
  • DON’T play near any power lines or electrical equipments like green boxes.
  • DON’T touch outlets or switches if the cover is missing or broken.
  • DON’T get on any roof to play or to get a ball or toy if it lands up there.
