Sub: Checking of connections of Dhabas, Hotels, Petrol Pumps, big commercial complexes and poultry farms, etc. situated on National / State Highways.
It is observed that consumers situated on National Highways, State Highways and other main roads around the District / Taluka places like Dhabas, Hotels, Petrol pumps, big commercial complexes and poultry farms, etc. are using large number of electrical appliances and halogen / high power lamps for illumination of surrounding areas during night hours though the State is passing through acute power shortage.
The possibility of using of power supply through faulty meter, tampered meter or other kind of pilferage of energy cannot be ruled out. Hence, it is decided that special drive should be immediately taken for checking the correctness of the meter and installation and action as per EA 2003 u/s 126 and 135 as deemed fit should be initiated.
It is also to be noted that all the faulty meters of the above installations should be immediately replaced by the MD recording TOD meters and immediate disconnection of supply should be taken if they are found in arrears.
Please see that all corrective actions should be taken so that the energy consumed by these installations should be recorded in the meter.
The Superintending Engineer of all Circles should personally monitor and take weekly report and see that all such checking should be completed within 15 days. They should take review of all such consumers every month in their monthly meeting.
