Sub:     Waiver of interest in respect of connections of Drinking Water Works / Public Water Works schemes of Municipalities, Grampanchayats, Zilla Parishads and other local bodies for recovery of arrears.

            The Board has passed the following resolution No.42 dated 14.5.2004 for effective recovery of arrears of Drinking Water / Public Water Works schemes.

"All the 'A' 'B' & 'C' Municipalities, Grampanchayats, Jeevan Pradhikaran, Municipal Corporations and other local self bodies, if they clear their upto-date arrears upto June 2004, in one installment, in respect of Drinking Water / Public Water Work connections standing in their names, then 60% interest on the arrears amount up to the date of payment shall be waived."

            Further, for effective implementation of the scheme, the Board has resolved to delegate the powers as under:

(1)        For all the cases where billing is done    :           Superintending Engineer, O&M

            at Sub-Division and Divisional level                               Circle concerned.

(2)        For all the cases where billing is done    :           Chief Engineer, O&M Zone

            at Circle level                                                                concerned.

            The concerned officers are, therefore, requested to take necessary action to ensure recoveries from Water Works consumers.
