He had also headed the Ministry of Rural Development & Irrigation during 1999 to 2004.  He was appointed as Minister of State for Energy twice in June 1991 & Nov. 1992, respectively. He hails from village Katewadi in Baramati Takuka of Pune District & represents Baramati Assembly Constituency since 1991. An acclaimed politician and social worker also holds various positions of importance in many other spheres throughout his public life.  A farmer by profession, he looks forward at the overall development and upliftment of farming community in the State.
